- PROMOTION GUIDELINES
Promotions within the DPD are based on operational needs, performance, and professionalism. Officers are considered for higher ranks when there is a vacancy and when they consistently demonstrate the qualities expected of leadership.
Promotion Criteria
- Operational Needs: Promotions occur when a position needs to be filled. Rank advancement is tied to department structure and necessity.
- Performance & Professionalism: Promotions are never handed out freely. Officers must consistently show dedication, maturity, and professionalism in all duties.
- Leadership Ability: Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to lead effectively.
- Teamwork: Strong, consistent teamwork is noticed and valued. Officers who support and communicate well with others are more likely to advance.
- Age Requirements: To ensure proper maturity for leadership roles, each rank has a minimum age:
- PPO+: 13+
- Captain: 15+
- Senior Command: 16+
